A poisoning that is caused by exposure to fruit of the Cassava plant (Manihot esculenta), contains linamarin, a cyanogenic glucoside. If a person eats improperly prepared products, cassavism (locally termed konzo or mantakassa) may develop, which features toxic ataxic neuropathy.
